Cordless Phone Reviews
Panasonic KX-TG1032S
Some of the most popular, and best selling cordless phones, are made by Panasonic. Topping the Panasonic charts is the Panasonic DECT 6.0-Series Dual-Handset Cordless Phone System with Answering System. (Also affectionately named the KX-TG1032S)
DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Communications) has just recently been introduced in the US but it’s been extremely popular in Europe for over 10 years.
The benefits of DECT is a greatly enhanced range (almost doubling other cordless models), incredible sound improvement, and longer-lasting battery life. DECT technology greatly reduces interference from other electrical equipment too.
This Panasonic cordless phone comes is expandable up to 6 handsets and includes all the bells and whistles, to include:
• Up to 17-hours of talk time
• 16-minute all-digital answering system
• Large-button handset
• Up to 3-Way conference capability
• Spanish LCD and voice prompt
• Light-up indicator with ringer/message alert
• Expandable up to six handsets
• Wireless network friendly
• Phonebook sharing
• Built-in clock with alarm on handset
• Call waiting caller ID
• 50-station phonebook and dialer
• Wall-mountable base unit
• Total of two handsets, one base and one chargers included
The reviews for this Panasonic cordless phone are generally very favorable. Most reviewers rated it at 4 or 5 stars and extolled the benefits of this phone.
The larger buttons are a bit hit as is the dramatically better range, sound quality, and lengthy talk time. Reviewers claim this model with the now available DECT 6.0 technology is much better than the 5.8ghz phones. Also, those who’d experienced previous problems with Wi-Fi interference with other cordless phones, no longer did.
Not many complaints were raised, but those that surfaced centered around volume variance from the answering machine (one call would be loud and another soft and no way to adjust it.)
AT&T SL82318
Although Panasonic has several popular cordless phones on the market, AT&T has a pretty good model in the AT&T SL82318 DECT 6.0 Digital Three Handset Answering System
Again, it’s the DECT 6.0 that’s stealing the show with outstanding call clarity, greater range and avoiding frequency interference from other appliances and networks.
Reviews for the AT&T SL82318 are overwhelmingly favorable. Most were extremely happy with their phone selection.
Uniden CEZA1998
Another consumer favorite is the Uniden CEZA1998 5.8 GHz Cordless Phone. This phone combines a traditional corded handset with a 5.8 GHz cordless handset. This way you get the convenience of a cordless phone with the added advantage of continued phone service if the power goes out..
This model is a great choice for folks hearing or with visual or impairments. In fact, it was designed with them in mind.
The Uniden CEZA1998 is backlit, has oversize keypad buttons on both the base and the cordless handset, an LED visual ring indicator and complete hearing aid compatibility.
The phone comes with the base, two AC adapters, telephone line cord, corded handset, charging cradle, battery cover, handset battery, belt clip, user’s guide and warranty card.
Enthusiastic comments for this phone were made by the elderly. Of special note are the big buttons, the speaker phone, and the special emergency 911 button.
The corded functionality also provided peace of mind in case of a power failure. This phone is, designed for the hard of hearing and visually impaired, but many owners simply enjoyed this phone. (The visual ringer and extra amplification can all be easily turned off.)
